Baby Room

Baby Room – 0-2 years

Our Baby Room can accommodate up to twelve babies, with one member of staff for every three babies. Here we provide a ‘home from home’ environment offering all the care, nurture and comfort that our youngest children require. 

Within the Baby Room there is a separate sleep area providing the children with a peaceful environment in which to rest as well as a conservatory for meal times and messy play. The babies conservatory has under floor heating thus ensuring a warm comfortable environment for those babies who are still crawling.

Our free-flow environment combined with a range of multi-sensory and physically challenging play resources, provide a wide range of learning opportunities for both babies and toddlers. 

The outdoor play space consists of a cordoned off soft play area with a low level climbing frame, sand and water trays, ride on toys as well as a variety of resources which are constantly changed and added to. The walls on both sides of the play area also have padding thus ensuring a safe and secure space where the babies can learn to walk and crawl in safety.

In the Summer we use a large canopy to provide shade thus ensuring the babies have continuous access to outdoors and fresh air even on the hottest days.

When the babies are ready, they move through to Pre-School Room. This usually happens around the child’s second birthday but can be earlier or later depending on the child’s developmental stage.

Transitions are never made without first consulting the parent/ carer and the child’s Key Person.
